Scuttlebutt Scuba Charters is based at Jan Juc in Victoria, Australia. A highly mobile operation that has and can be
contracted to work anywhere in Victoria from beaches to boat ramps . Available on short notice to take advantage of
favourable conditions and weather along the coast or inside Port Phillip Bay. A 4WD Toyota Landcruiser is utilized for towing to the various ports
or a tractor for beach launching at Torquay's fishermans beach.
Vessel
Has a huge amount of dash and deck space to fitout equipment required for a comfortable operation.
Length 7.9 x 3 m wide made of 6mm alloy plate & custom built for diving in 2001 & she was re-powered with twin four stroke 115hp Yamaha outboards, May 2007. The vessel is
in 2c charter survey for 9 passengers and 1 crew. The boat has a divers door in the transom and a ‘fins on’ step ladder.
It is also equipped with a medical first aid and oxygen kit, a Furuno colour sounder and chart-plotter, and VHF and HF radios.

Various modes of operation used to record and moniter the seafloor flora and fauna included drop cameras, towed video, sonar,
digital GPS, manual grabs and scuba diving.

Rock lobster research
Many years of hard data was recorded while I worked as a professional
crayfisherman, tagging and recording rock lobster details through out the
open and closed seasons. Monitoring of perilus sites was also conducted for a few years at Pt.Impossible.

Removing the Japanese kelp Undaria pinnatifida from Station Pier pylons in Port Melbourne.
